The Horizon Investments Distribution Summer Intern position will provide experience in the primary distribution functions of a growing goals-based investment manager including Sales and Strategic Relationships. This position would also provide an introduction to other departments at Horizon including Technology, Investment Management, Consulting, Marketing, Data, and Compliance. This role will provide the successful candidate with hands-on experience in the different functions of an award-winning asset management firm. The goal of the internship is a full-time job offer upon graduation. The intern will work within the Sales team that engages with financial advisors to distribute investment solutions which can be used inside of a financial plan. You will learn the various stages of the consultative sales cycle, including creating awareness, facilitating onboarding, and retaining customers. This will also include an introduction to how Horizon strategies are positioned to financial advisors and the necessary education for advisors beginning to incorporate a goals-based framework. Upon the conclusion of their internship, the intern will be required to complete two capstone projects, a sales presentation and a mock business plan. This position will also spend time with the Strategic Relationships team to observe and learn the importance of the distribution relationships at the key account level and what all is necessary to maintain strong partnerships with these firms. As a part of this rotation the intern will support the Head of Strategic Relationships and Strategic Relationships Manager in campaign organization, gathering data for conference and event follow up, and driving process through utilization of the CRM.
